Landmark International Trucks & Engine, Inc. started when International Harvester
Corporation sold their Knoxville branch on Cherry Street and moved to Rutledge
Pike on November 1, 1979. At this time Landmark was open 8am - midnight Monday -
Friday and employed about 35 employees.
In 1985 James J. Jablonski became Owner and President of Landmark
International after 19 years of service with International Harvester/Navistar
Corp. His
reason for leaving a corporate environment was that he "wanted to deal with
the customer on a more personal level". He also brought experience running
a factory branch for International Harvester which helped Landmark grow in the
years to come.
Today, Landmark International is East Tennessee's premier, family owned truck
dealership with three locations; Cookeville, Knoxville and Morristown: with over
90 employees. Our Knoxville location is open 24 hours from Monday at 7:30am to
Saturday at 4pm. We have added Idealease, North America's fastest growing
leasing company, With over 400 locations and 30,000 vehicles. Magnum terminal
tractors and in 1999 started a Landmark Trailers, Parts & Service to provide
our customers with a one stop shop for all their transportation needs.
Our employees and the company's involvement in the community have helped
Landmark International grow, improve the quality of life in the community and
assure continuing growth into the future.
